Ice Skating Competition

May 14

Isabel had her first competition. She has been skating  now for 5 months and ended up competing in the Basic 3 level.
Pop & Nanny decided to drive down to come see her
Here she is about to start. She skated to "Under the Sea"
Showing off some of her spins
Letting the judges she how she can skate backwards
And of course a bow at the end.
She came off the rink laughing, because she knew she had messed up. She had gotten nervous and skated around the center circle 2 times instead of once which ended up eating up a lot of her time. When the music ended she wasn't finished with her routine, but had to end it anyways. This resulted in her getting last place, because she didn't get to show off all of her skills that she was suppose to check off.
But you know what? We are still proud of her. She was adorable out there, and the most important part was that she had fun. Pop and Nanny gave her hugs and high fives.
TaDa....she was glad it was all over. She told me she didn't want to compete anymore, because it was too demanding and stressful. She just wants to do regular group lessons and have fun. She still LOVES to skate, just not the serious type.
Even Belle came to show her support.
and of course her little bro came
I had to get a picture in with all my kids sitting with my parents. Its hard to get moments like this
Isabel definitely is loved. She had a big crowd that showed up to see her perform. Even my visiting teachers came to see her. I love that our church here is so supportive. They came after we took this picture though

I had to document this so I don't forget when she gets older what she use to do. Every kid has their little quirks, and Gabriella's is definitely having to play with hair...constantly! If she is sitting by any girl she will grab a piece of your hair and just rub it around in between her fingers. When it is your hair it can get quite annoying. I tell her all the time to play with her own hair, but that isn't good enough for her. She doesn't like her hair. It always has to be somebody else's.

Aww congrats to Isabel! Figure Skating is very demanding but rewarding. I skated for 6 years and loved it. We practiced 4x a week. She looks like she did awesome. Natalie

she looks so adorable in her little outfit. I give her major props for realizing that she doesn't want to compete but that she just enjoys learning how to skate. Way to go Isabel!

Isabel is super, super cute with her ice skating outfit. I can tell she is a hoot to watch. As far as Gabriella, she takes after Gabriel. It must be in the name. I don't know if you remember, but he did the SAME thing! He couldn't even go to sleep unless he was playing with my hair. He never stopped until we got a dog, and he was able to torture him instead. ;)
