Ok, so yesterday Dad had to turn in his dream sheet. This is where we get to pick what planes and bases we would like to go to, or at least rank the order of our preferences. It is not guaranteed that we get what we want, but they take inconsideration what your choices are. The commander has already sat down with everybody and had a meeting telling them not to expect much from their dream sheets. They probably wouldn't get their 1,2,3,5,8...choices. It would end up being like your 10th or so choice. We will see...Dad said that this was the most nerve racking thing to do in all of training. This is what kind of determines what he does for the rest of his career. Plus he is already the most confused individual there is. He never knows exactly what he wants. He has been ping-ponging back and forth this whole year on what he wants. One day he'll say one thing and the next another. I never know with him. His dream sheet is probably going to confuse the heck out of his commanders, b/c he has his plane choices all jumbled up. Usually people have the order of the plane they want and then the bases available for that specific plane. But since Anthony doesn't really know what he wants to fly he has all the planes mixed up and the bases mixed up. I really don't know what the heck we are going to end up getting. I do know that the Lord knows best. So, even in all of this confusion, the Lord knows what we need most, and he will send us to the place that is best for us. I'm glad that somebody knows what the heck is going on, because we sure don't.
Since Anthony's planes are all mixed up between bases I will write the plane choices and the first base for that plane that we chose in order for you so it will be easier to understand.
1. T6 (Texas)
2. C-17 (South Carolina)
3. AC-130 (Florida)
4. U-28 (Florida)
5. NSA (New Mexico)
6. T-1 (Texas)
7. MC-130P (Japan)
8. MC-130H (Japan)
9. HC-130 (Arizona)
10. C-5 (California)
11. C-130 (Germany)
12. C-21 (Germany)
13. KC-10 (California)
14. KC-135 (England)
15. E-3 (Alaska)
16. EC-130 (Arizona)
17. E-8 (Georgia)
18. RC-135 (Nebraska)
This whole process has been so nerve racking for me too. They already give you so many options to choose from (43 to be exact), and then to try to decide what you want with somebody who wants 10 different things, trying to meet in the middle somewhere, is a very hard and long process. Personally I really want Dad to get his 4th choice, a U-28. Its a new plane out and it's missions seem pretty cool. I think it fits Anthony's personality the best. Or his 5th choice, NSA. They are both special-op programs, so I think they would be interesting and fun for Dad. Anyways, Dad's drop night is in 2 weeks, and we will find out what we get there. I can't wait. I am standing on pins and needles.

Well, good luck!!! We'll pray for you - and that you end up at Dover ;) That is the only base where you'll get a 4-bedroom house. We've looked because there is a chance we may not get to go there after all....long story....thank goodness it's a very small chance. Anyway, you want Dover - brand new houses, big houses....Every other base makes you make kids room together and with 3 kids, you would get a 3 bedroom. So, think Dover, I am!! ;) We'd love to have you there with us!
Goodness.. you have list full of variety! That is a lot of choices. Is Hickam really an option?! That would be such a fun place. :) A U-28 sounds really great too. Good luck!
Yes, yes, yes, it sure sounds like y'all don't know what you want. It'll be good to get some closure, though. Good luck!
I like the new background! Very summery...
Did you finish Anthony's 1st year book yet?
I need to update my blog with lots of things...!
Good luck! I remember that time! All I can say is you have the right attitude....the Lord gives you what you need and what he knows is best for you. Dover was WAAAYYY down on our list and we immediately knew it was the right thing for us when they announced it. Things'll work out and you'll LOVE IT! How ya feeling? You look so cute!
Mary,
No! I haven't finished his book yet. I am so mad. I can't even work on it, b/c our computer still won't turn on, and its too hard for me to work on with the lap top. It sucks, b/c my book expires the end of this month too. I got lots to work on. Want to help me?
Good luck I hope you get what you want. The lord really does know best even if you don't understand his reasoning. Joel wants to do the u-28 after this tour or the b-2if they are options. I miss you guys. call me sometime Larissa
