Rock Climbing

APRIL 2, 2011
The hubs and I went on another date. Usually it is your typical going to dinner and maybe a movie. Not that I am complaining. I love going out to eat. Especially, here in Charleston where there are tons of fine dinning places. But this time we wanted to switch it up. We decided to go more on the sporty side. What did we do? Headed over to the James Island County Park and ROCK CLIMBED!
Here we go folks. Strap on the gear and lets roll...I mean climb
This is my first time so I'm a little scared and nervous
I started out on the beginners slope where it slants in a little bit. That way you are leaning on the wall and not having to pull so much of your own weight.
After I did the kiddie one to get my confidence up I tried the straight up and down one. What do you know? I made it all the way to the top. Thats right, all 50 ft. Yikes! Don't look down its a doosie.
Then Dad had to show off and climb the one with all the knick and crannies. I wasn't even about to attempt this one. Look how steep some of those overhangs are.
He did great as well and made it all the way to the top. I was so proud of him.

This date was fun. It was a nice change in the typical dinning out experience. Instead of sitting and getting fat. I got to have fun and kick my butt into shape. LOVE IT!

That looks like fun! I have never tried it and there is NO WAY Paul would think of that for a date!

You getting fat! Hah! I think your family has skinny genes (and jeans for sure!) You've had 3 kids and marina's had 5 and y'all are both itty bitty. Can you tell I'm a bit envious?! ;) hehehe

Oh I love rock climbing. I'm so jealous! I used to go all the time in college, back before kids, haha. Glad you guys had a good time.
