As soon as we found out he could play. Dad took him to buy his own bat and glove. He was so excited and ever since then baseball is all he can talk about. Here Dad is giving Ant a pep talk before his game
When I told my family about Anthony starting they had to drive down to show their support for his first game. As soon as we arrived and saw all the wonderful things that this community has done for these kids we couldn't help but feel the warmth and support of everybody. There definitely was a distinct presence of the spirit around this baseball field. Me and my sisters couldn't help ourselves from crying.
Anthony heads into the dugout to find out who his team is. The COUGARS!
Anthony was happy to find out that the helpers for the day was none other than the Summerville High School Softball team. Everybody knows that Anthony can't resist the girls. Here he is trying to be the 3 base coachmen
His team was up to bat first. Can he hit it?
He did! Woooohooooo. Thats my boy
And he is off headed to first
Now rounding 2nd (you need to blow up this picture to see his face expression, hilarious)
3rd
He can't stop himself. He is running so fast I can barely catch him on the camera
I can't believe it. He made it all the way HOME and he is SAFE!
Can you tell he is proud? I know I am
Now it is time to go into the field. Grab your glove
Look at him bend down to get that ball. He's a natural
After awhile he got tired so him and his new buddy, Jeremiah, sat down to rest. His shadows thought they were cute and started taking pictures of them. Don't worry, they won't get hurt sitting down. Playing in the field is one big chaos. I happy, fun, chaos though. There is like 30 people on the field just wandering around aimlessly. Its all very laid back.
The guy standing up his Ant's other buddy, Dillon. He was so funny and definitely got the crowd going. When he would get up to bat he would shake his little toosh, and then when he made it home plate he would break into a dance. It was so funny. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
Anthony started to get a little too comfortable with the girls. He didn't even care about the game anymore. He just wanted to lay in the girls lap.
When it was his turn to bat again. He was too tired to run the bases anymore, so the girl just picked him up and ran with him
They even had a professional photographer out there taking pictures of everybody. This shows you exactly how laid back the game is. When some random person can just lay down in the middle of the infield to take pictures I think it is safe to say that all rules are out.
While Anthony was having fun playing his baseball game. The girls were getting their faces painted.
I think Isabel was enjoying herself a little too much. She definitely was living it up. Blow Pop, sunglasses, face painted, Ipod shuffle, and soaking up the sun rays. I'd say the day was GRAND SLAM of a time.
I would like to give a little shout out for those of you who live near by who would like to help out with the Summerville Miracle League. Besides them always being in need of volunteers. They only have one fundraiser a year. This is a big BBQ production. They say usually 3,000 people show up. It will be held April 8-9 on Old Trolley Rd. Tickets are $10/person for all you can eat Wings on Friday and all you can eat BBQ on Saturday. You can come to both days or just pick one. If you are interested let me know.
