The next weekend after we got back from vacation all of my brothers and sisters got together to help clean up my parents rental property they have in downtown Columbia on Harrison Rd. It is actually the house that my Mom grew up in, and later in life my grandmother lived there for a while. I love that we still hold possession of something that has sentimental value to our family.
Well, the renters that Pop did have left the place 6 months ago and left in a disaster. Pop was fed up with the house and with his renters, so he didn't tell anybody, but he was letting the house go into Fore-closer. What? How could he just let something go that has so many memories. At least he could have tried to sell it. Anyways, when the family found out we all said that we would chip in and take things over.
Pop and Mom are getting older and does not want as many responsibilities. They are simplifying their lives. Delia and Alex have decided to take over the renting responsibilities. They will scan the renters and deal with collecting the money. You know the whole shebang. The rest of us just lend our time, sweat, and elbow grease. So here we all are working together as a TEAM!

The front of the house. I really wish I would have got a before picture, but Ethen and Wesley had already been out there earlier in the week and started cutting down trees and clearing shrubbery.

Here is the side. Before the whole fence was covered with vines and bushes. You couldn't even see the house. Actually when I drove up I passed it because I couldn't see the place. I had to end up turning around.

The boys all stayed outside and worked on the yard. Ethen brought his bobcat out and bulldozed over a lot of stuff.

Anthony is exhausted

While they were cutting trees down they almost blew up the transformer. Thank goodness they didn't

While the boys were outside, the girls were inside painting. Say hi Delia

Angel taking a little water break. Ugh, can you say that whole kitchen needs to be gutted

After I painted all the base boards and window trim I was in charge of vacuuming. I love Rainbow vacuums. They are the best

I have to say the kids did really well for being out there all day in the hot sun. The only time the kids fought was when they wanted to hold Lollipop. I think Amber had her the most

Jared did really good entertaining the kids.

As you can clearly tell by the photos

Don't ask me why Jonah is in his boxers. I don't care. All that matters is they stayed out of our way and had fun.
I wish I lived closer so I could help out more. There is still a lot to do on the house, but whenever it is finished being fixed up does anybody have any interest in renting? Any daughters or sons starting college? It is really close to campus. The house is in a great location right off of Forest Dr. You could walk to Richland Mall if you wanted to. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1600 sqft
