I thought it would be nice to do something CrAzY with Dad everyday before he left on deployment. I had 10 things down to do on paper and put in a jar. Everyday the kids got to draw to see what we did that day. First....
Swimming at the Beach
yes we went to the beach in the middle of December. It was very cold. Our battery on the camera died right when we got out there. So no pictures. Sorry
Pillow Fight

Silly String Fight
We caught Dad by surprise when he came home. He totally got blind sided when he turned the corner of the house. He had nothing on us. Ha ha ha

We really had to twist Dad's leg to get him to do this. I'm so glad he is a good sport

Shaved Head
Our family has really grown so much from these last 10 days. I kind of wish that we didn't do this countdown, because we grew so much closer as a family. We actually spent quality time as a family together for 10 days. It wasn't hey yeah Dad is home, but he is in the garage doing his own thing. Or were on the computer, or one is up stairs and the other is down stairs. This countdown forced us to be together for one point in the day. Now that we have grown closer it really made it hard to say good bye to Dad. We are going to miss him so much. But boy do we have some great memories to look back on
The last day we shaved his head. His head is silky smoothed like a baby's bottom. We really were suppose to shave his legs, but he would NOT let us. I tried for 2 weeks to try to convince him, but he wasn't budging on this one. We had to settle on just shaving his head.
All lathered up. I had already shaved the majority of it off. Now it was time to Bic it
Even though it looks like he still has hair, he doesn't. I promis he is balled. Its just that his hair is so thick and dark that even the roots show through his scalp. Obviosly he is not one of the guys who can do a "BIC head"...oh well, it was still fun doing it.Our family has really grown so much from these last 10 days. I don't think I realized he was leaving??? I hope he's only gone for a couple of months. When it's over with, it feels like it went by faster than you would have thought, but not until it's over with does it feel that way ;) I hope you got the little FHE book I sent you. I let my kids color the pictures in the back (PHOTO COPY THEM INSTEAD OF USING THEM STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOOK!!!) and then I laminated them and cut them up. We put them in a little bag and the kids love to see what gets drawn each week and who colored it. I LOVE this little book because when I'm in a pinch (which was a lot when Peter was gone) it is nice to have everthing all planned out - even the song - so that we could still sit down each week and have our FHE. Your family will feel that same closeness that you experienced over the last 10 days each time you sit down for FHE and we are promised many blessings if we have regular FHE. Anyway...if you ever want to talk to another adult while he's gone (I got lonely when Peter was gone) just give me a ring!! I'll e-mail you my number if you don't have it - it's on our blog though I think :) Take care and we'll keep your family in our prayers!! Sorry for the essay ;)
I got your Christmas card and letter, but I never got the booklet thing. Its sounds really cute and would help me out a lot. Anthony will be gone for 4 months. I don't think it will be too bad though since I have lots of family close by. I'll make another post about his departure when I have more time
LOL!!! Y'all are too funny! Who would have thought that spending time together makes you grow closer??? ;) hahaha...now when he returns you'll know what to do!
I love you!!! Call me if you get lonely in the meantime.
What an awesome idea! You are so creative. Especially love the pie pics of the kids crying!
Y'all are such a fun family! It seems like y'all always have great ideas for fun and crazy activities.
Wow, you really had a lot of fun before he left. That's great for the kids, they will have some fun memories until he gets back. I don't think Anthony can pull off drag though...haha.
