The other day we bought Isabel her very own Barbie fishing pole, and ever since has been bugging us to take her fishing. So yesterday we thought we would give it a try. I think I had been fishing maybe once before when I was real little, but I don't remember it so we will say that this was my first time fishing as well as the kids. We didn't want to drive all the way out to the lake, so we decided to just go to the little river that everybody goes swimming at here instead.

We decided to move further down to the big bridge and walked underneath it. We thought it would be a good idea to change our lour since the fish were so small. We weren't prepared and didn't have any smaller bait, so we used the bread that we brought to feed the duckies with instead.

I love this picture of Dad fishing off the bridge. He looks so peaceful up there. Like he has no cares in the world. Which, he really needed because he has had his face crammed inside of books all week long trying to prepare for his Nav Check. This is the biggest test for him, and pretty much decides his career. Well, not career but his plane assignment.

What a fun little outing!!! Sorry you didn't catch anything, but catch and release would be all I would do with fish in Del Rio anyway...the missionaries eat them, but they're blessed to not get sick eating icky fish like that :) We will pray for Anthony that his nav check will go well. I'd tell you to tell him not stress, but not only could he not, but it IS the hardest check-ride in T-1 UPT. So, good luck to him and just help him relax when he gets home from it!! Let us know how it goes. Also, I'm stealing your link to blogs into books. I've been wanting to find one.
Okay, first of all, those weren't dumb little fish, they were smart little fish. It's apparent who the dummies were. (Shouldn't go there) Anyway, the lure was definitely a HUGE hurdle for you. But, that trip sounded soooooo fun! Even though it wasn't successful with a catch, it was successful with family memories. How cool is that!? You got some great pics!
Tell Anthony we wish him luck!!!!
Fishing is FUN! I'm really anxious to try for the salmon up here... as long as they don't pull ME in. lol. You four are all so dang cute. I love the fisherman's hat. :)
How fun! Looks like you guys had a good time! Is it still cold there? You are all bundled up- that is crazy for Del Rio. Good luck Anthony!
No! It is not cold here at all. It is like 105* everyday, but for some reason we had a cold front come in and it was 65* that day.
