86th Squadrion Picnic Party

Ok, sorry I am late getting these posts out, but like I said earlier we are having major computer problems. I thought we would go to San Antonio this past weekend to fix them, but we decided to wait until the beginning of the month when we already have to take a trip up there for lil. Ant's Spina Bifida appointment. Right now the laptop seems to be ok so we'll give it a try...

Last Thursday Anthony's flight squadron decided to have a picnic party out at the Air Force Marina. It was nice, because it was mandatory for all the guys to go out. They got off work at 10:00 and got to spend time with their families the rest of the day. Its nice to have the military give you mandatory family time. Anyways, they had lots of things out there for the kids to do. They had a big jumpy castle, which we decided to put Anthony in for the first time. He did just what he thought he would do. He crawled around getting popped like little popcorn kernels by all the other big kids. He didn't seem to mind though, he thought it was fun. The slip 'n' slide was Isabel's favorite. She wouldn't fall down until the very end of the slide, but for some reason she really enjoyed just running down the thing. Isabel also like running and jumping in the pool.
Here she is pulling out a wedgie. She gets them all the time it seems like. Maybe her clothes don't fit her? They had a nice little bar-b-q for everyone. Well, it was good for us, b/c we were the first people in line. They actually did poor planing, b/c they didn't have enough food for everyone. There was enough side items, but all the hamburgers and hot dogs were gone. I felt sorry for the people who were at the end of the line. Poor guys. There was plenty of watermelon though. Thank goodness b/c that is all my kids would eat. They both had like 6 pieces each. Little piggies. As you can see Anthony was shoving them in his mouth. Eating them all the way down to the rind. My favorite was the big, huge, juicy, strawberries they had. They were the biggest ones I've seen. I wasn't holding it good in the picture where you could actually see how big it really was. Well, after being out in 106* weather for 2 hours with out any sunblock on...I got sunburnt. Yes, I know I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, but I will have a nice tan afterwards :-)My hair was also covering the middle of my back that is why it is white there too.

Poor thing, you did get burned! It looks like you guys had a blast. That's wonderful that the military organizes things like this. :)

Even though there wasn't a lot of food, it looks like y'all had loads of fun! Tell Isabel I wouldn't have slid on the slip-n-slide either. I'm a woos. I would be afraid I would face plant!
