I have posted before about my Goodwill obsession. Well, this summer I found this dresser for $1. Thats right...$1! We thought that they listed the price wrong and meant to say at least $10, but NO! It was a $1! Yes, it was ugly, brown, chipped, nicked, and who could miss the missing drawer. It definitely needed some TLC. I didn't care about all of its blemishes. I knew I could fix it up. I couldn't let something pass me by for a $1.
Sorry, I keep saying that. I'll just say it one more time...Aaaaa DOLLAR! Ok, I'm done.
Anyways, we brought it home, sanded it, and painted it. Now it sits in my master bedroom where Gabriella has found a new use for the dresser. While I do the clothes she climbs in the hole and plays Hide and Seek.
We still have not finished the dresser. Dad still needs to make a drawer for it, and put some hardware on.
I thought I wanted a drawer, but now that the hole entertains Gabriella I just might keep it that way. What ever keeps her busy so I can clean is always a plus in my book.

Hahaha! I'm all for leaving it empty to entertain the little ones. Just get Anthony to make a false drawer so that Gabriella can take the front off and still play in it ;)
Liz Ann - you should totally remove a drawer from the other side and replace them with baskets. See this blog

(scroll down and you'll see her dresser that is similar) :) GREAT FIND!!! $1 is AWESOME! I love it!!!
Great find, and great job with it so far! I've got several pieces of my own (literally - 2 of them have been mine since I was born) that need to be sanded and re-finished. I wish I could commit to painting them instead of staining them, but I can't stay with a color. So...anyway, if you're ever bored I could sure use help sanding them correctly! I've never done it before. After February 1st I'll be in Kentucky, so you know where to find me for a visit ;)
