Oakbrook Ward

After being here a month we finally made it to OUR new ward. The first Sunday we didn't know what the ward boundary lines were so we just went to the 9:00 session. Needless, to say it was the wrong one. Our ward meets at 1:00. Then the next week we were all sick. And then the week after that my nephew got baptised so we went back to Columbia for that. So a month later we finally met our new fellow church members.

I must say our new ward is awesome! A lot of people came up and introduced their selves, which I can't remember any of their names right now, but hopefully soon I will. I exchanged phone # with 3 people and the Young Women gave me their # for babysitting. Everybody was really friendly. By the time I got home and turned my phone back on I had 2 messages from people inviting me over to their houses for dessert. How sweet is that? We felt very welcomed.

If only I had went to our church a little sooner I wouldn't have been so bummed on my birthday, because I would have known some people to hang out with it. We could have had a girls night out.

On Monday for Memorial Day the church got together for a game of baseball. The older team beat the younger guys. I don't know if it was a fare game or not. After they started playing they told us that 3 of the older men played College Baseball (including the bishop). It was funny watching a bunch of old guys beat up on the younger ones.

I have pictures coming later. Suprise our laptop is messed up. And people are always on the apartment comunity computers. So I can't get on for long periods of time.

That's so awesome Liz Ann that your ward is a good one!! That really makes a lot of difference, especially when your hubby will be gone, a lot (as C-17 guys are). It's a nice thing to not sit in your house alone all day and all night. Some Wards could take notes from others, but I digress. Wish I could be there with you, I miss you!!!!

Glad to know that you moved into such a great ward. I don't know any one in that ward but it sounds like a great one!
