Ok, I am going to attempt to use our laptop. For the past year Dad had let a friend borrow it for his school, and when we got it back it had all kind of viruses on it. Dad worked on it yesterday for 5 hours trying to clean it out, so hopefully it will work ok. I tell you though so for it is working slow.
Anyways, Monday Dad had his Nav Check Ride. This is the most important/hardest test in all of pilot training. This is the test that pretty much determines your career. So needless to say Dad has been under a lot of stress lately. I knew it had to be something serious when I saw him actually studying for once. This whole time I have not seem him study, but this weekend he was cramming himself with all kind of knowledge to be prepared for this big test. I thought he was going to end up doing really good, but when he came home throwing stuff around all over the place and yelling I knew it wasn't good. I thought he was going to knock a hole in our wall and we were going to get evicted. Thank goodness he didn't. Well, so he finally calmed down to tell me how it went. He had an unsat ride of an E10. Which means he failed. He couldn't believe it. This is the first time that he had failed anything. And I think what made him the most upset was b/c this whole time he hasn't studied or really tried and he has done pretty good. he was top half of his class until this. But the time he actually tried he failed. That is what is depressing to him. There was only one other person that scored lower than him. We were both disappointed at first, b/c we thought he was going to end up getting the worst plane KC-135, but the more we talked to people Anthony still has a good chance of getting what he wants. We thought that this Check Ride determined a lot, but since this is the only thing that he has messed up on its not so bad. He has done really good on all of his daily rides and they take in your T6 (first training plane)grades too. Also the flight commander ranking has a lot to do with it too(30%). Which could knock him up 3 slots just right there. So with all that said, we still think Dad is in the top half of his class, and will be able to FAIP (pilot instructor here in Del Rio) like we wanted to. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
Personally I wouldn't mind a KC-135 b/c we could be stationed in England, where I would be 30 min away from Italy, France, etc... I would love to tour Europe. Can we say Amazing! Just trying to look at the positive side.

It's great to have a positive attitude! This will just make him a better man. Chalk it up to lessons learned.
You know, I think that's how I felt when I failed my personality test. A PERSONALITY TEST! How do you fail a personality test?! It still urks me. But, you know what, I had greater doors open up for me because of it. Anthony will still have great opportunities.
Sorry to hear the news. Just remember that Heavenly Father controls your assignments. You will get whatever you are supposed to get. Sometimes that's hard to swallow, but in retrospect it always makes sense. Don't give up!
